Moravita
Beautiful Lipizzan, magnificent Frederiksborg and impressive Andalusian horses walking together on the grasslands. A view not much to be seen, but at Moravita in the Netherlands you have the chance to watch and admire the most beautiful Lipizzan mares in the North of Europe playing with their foals. By watching the proud Frederiksborgers, one can imagine these horses in the battles of Medieval Europe fighting under their knights and kings. Image

The choice for these horses has not been made randomly: Every horse is carefully bred, the parents carefully chosen and their education is thoroughly devised. Our love and passion for the original baroque types crystallize in the beautiful horses of Moravita, the Classical Breeding and Training Centre.

The Classical Breeding Centre stands for quality horses, perfect blood lines and of course high premium accommodation of the horses. The Classical Training Centre stands for the classical training of horse and rider in which the horse can develop freely both physically and psychologically. The Classical Breeding Centre and Classical Training Centre together make the perfect match: breed and educate the best horses and then train them into self-confident animals that love to work with human.

At Moravita the love and passion of the owners – Ton and Aletta Duivenvoorden - for the horses is not limited to the immaterial: the accommodation is high-end quality. Moravita has several stable complexes, among them a training stable with twelve spacious boxes, of course a separate space for grooming and washing and a well provided tackroom. The mares’ stable is unique in its size and structure with large mare-foal boxes, beautiful loafing barns and several guest boxes. Image
The standards we at Moravita set are high and the results accordingly. After 6 months of being with their mothers, the foals are separated from them and prepared for living in the herd. Naturally, all the horses go out every day and in this stage the foals grow further in contact with humans. They learn all the basic skills that are useful for being a riding horse, in the beginning together with the other foals brought in every night in the loafing barns. Having reached an age of one year, the mares and stallions are separated and start their kindergarden in the herd. Unique for Moravita is the time the horses will spend in kindergarden: they will get all the time they need for growing up as healthy and mentally stable as possible. Because the herd consists of horses of ages from one till four, the older horses will teach the younger ones their social skills. Image
Only at the age of four, the adolescents get to be brought in for their further education. Being under the saddle is just a phase that follows the preceding: gaining self confidence, being able to walk on their own feet, gaining balance. These are skills that are essential for a horse to be able to work with human. These are the skills that Ton Duivenvoorden carefully educates before even thinking of putting a saddle on the horse.

The passion and knowledge of Ton and Aletta Duivenvoorden resulted in the Classical Breeding and Training Centre Moravita. Moravita now is a flourishing business and operates throughout the world. Clients in Europe, the United States and Australia - having found the horse of their dreams - appreciate the people at Moravita for their horsemanship, personal approach and sincerity in finding the right match between owner and horse.
